Amasa Stone Chapel has been a standard of Case Western Reserve University's campus since 1907. The Chapel has been reserved for self-led tours and will be open throughout Homecoming weekend. Please stop in and visit this piece of Cleveland history.

The third annual Wisdom of Practice Lecture will be delivered this year by Dr Johanna Lynch, an Australian family doctor who used the platform of private practice to respond to the needs of her patients, the wider community, her own family, and herself. Johanna will take us on a journey through the various iterations of her clinical practice and research and inspire us to remember what we value and why we did medicine. She will use her own journey to reflect on the personal struggle each patient-oriented clinician encounters as they seek to remain relational and personalised in the care they offer within fragmented systems. She will inspire us all, in Bradley Lewis’s words, to develop “better, truer, richer, and more generous stories and case formulations in the service of healing and coping."

This year, we will feature and give tours of our Zubizarreta Immersive Learning Suite and further (new this year) AI technology in the Simulation Center. If you choose to participate in these tours, please select which time slot works best for you when registering. Space is limited.

During this event, faculty and staff from the Office of Interprofessional and Interdisciplinary Education and Research will provide an update on the undergraduate and graduate coursework offered through the office and discuss their collaborations with the academic health centers in Cleveland. Attendees will also be able to participate in a short, team challenge and debrief to experience how the office teaches teamwork mindsets, knowledge, and skills.

In 1919 Andrew Squire provided in his will that his Valleevue Farm should be "held in perpetuity for the use and benefit of the teachers and students of the women's college of the Western Reserve University." The farm’s rustic cottage, the Pink Pig, became a special place of gathering and sisterhood for Case Western Reserve University Women, then Mather College. Join us for a short presentation on the history of women at the farm by Dr. Jody Kunk-Czaplicki and coffee and pastry reception at the University Farm. Transportation provided.

The Hay-McKinney Mansion is 20,000 square foot, Italian Renaissance Revival home located in the fashionable Wade Allotment (now University Circle).

Join this docent-led tour to learn about this living museum once briefly inhabited, which tells the stories of Mrs. Clara Hay, the McKinney family, and prominent Clevelanders who built a city through savvy entrepreneurship and generous philanthropy.

The home is now furnished with period artifacts from the WRHS collections; each room is laid out as it might have been in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The mansion is a picture of a city’s rise and the men and women who shaped it.

Civil and environmental engineering are dynamic fields ripe with innovation. To prepare our students to become leaders in the fields, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers an array of labs and research resources. Dust off that instrument and play along with the Spartan Marching Band during Homecoming festivities! Members of the Alumni Marching Band will perform at the Spartan Tailgate and throughout the Homecoming Football Game. Explore Sears think[box], the university's center of innovation and entrepreneurship. A seven-story, 50,000 square-foot facility, think[box] offers free, open-access maker spaces to draft, design, fabricate, market and realize ideas. Participants begin on Floor 1: Community, where guests will watch a short introductory video about think[box]. After the video, guests will receive a guidebook to help them explore floors two through six. Visitors can also complete an optional scavenger hunt activity for think[box] themed prizes!

Grace Longwell Coyle made a profound impact on group work study and its practice. Her books and classroom presentations were landmark additions to the field of group work education, contributing to the critical analysis of group leadership, group behavior and the professional education of social workers.

The Alumni Association of CWRU and student org, First CWRU, welcome first generation alumni to a breakfast event during Homecoming weekend. Meet fellow alumni and connect with students, as well as alumni board members and Emerti board members. 

This event has a cost of $8, all of which will go towards the First CWRU student organization's operating fund. 

Simply put, being first-generation means that you are the first in your family to attend college... To narrow this definition a little, people are considered first-generation college students when their parents have received none to some college education (meaning earned an associate's degree or less) and/or their parent received a college education outside of the US.
