Wisdom of Practice Lecture

Sponsored by: School of Medicine

Becoming the kind of clinician you want to be: Meeting patient, practitioner, and community needs through private practice innovation. The third annual Wisdom of Practice Lecture will be delivered this year by Dr Johanna Lynch, an Australian family doctor who used the platform of private practice to respond to the needs of her patients, the wider community, her own family, and herself. Johanna will take us on a journey through the various iterations of her clinical practice and research and inspire us to remember what we value and why we did medicine. She will use her own journey to reflect on the personal struggle each patient-oriented clinician encounters as they seek to remain relational and personalised in the care they offer within fragmented systems. She will inspire us all, in Bradley Lewis’s words, to develop “better, truer, richer, and more generous stories and case formulations in the service of healing and coping."

When Acme is found murdered, all fingers point to Roger, and the sinister, power-hungry Judge Doom (Christopher Lloyd) is on a mission to bring Roger to justice. Roger begs the Toon-hating Valiant to find the real evildoer and the plot thickens as Eddie uncovers scandal after scandal and realizes the very existence of Toontown is at stake! WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT is deliciously outrageous fun the whole family will enjoy.

This event is sponsored by the CWRU Film Society.

First Generation Breakfast

Sponsored by: The Alumni Association

The Alumni Association of CWRU and student org, First CWRU, welcome first generation alumni to a breakfast event during Homecoming weekend. Meet fellow alumni and connect with students, as well as alumni board members and Emerti board members.

This event has a cost of $8, all of which will go towards the First CWRU student organization's operating fund.

Simply put, being first-generation means that you are the first in your family to attend college... To narrow this definition a little, people are considered first-generation college students when their parents have received none to some college education (meaning earned an associate's degree or less) and/or their parent received a college education outside of the US. On behalf of the CWRU Student National Medical Association (SNMA) and Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA), we would like to invite all alumni who identify as underrepresented in medicine, to a networking breakfast with current students. Learning from those that came before us, forming connections and growing our community are ideals we uphold in our organization's mission. We would love the opportunity to meet with URIM alumni and foster connectedness between current student and alumni.
